This was originally a comment to a different post, but it ended up being so long that I couldn't post it as a comment, so I'm trying to post it as a standalone post instead. Here are some basic things that I would say are fairly easy for a beginner, and will might give a big return. Users who post in this subreddit solely to promote someone's content are not welcome and might be banned in case of repeated violations.

Australia, India, most of South East Asia are left side driving, with the exception of Taiwan, South Korea, The Philippines, Cambodia, and Laos. All of the Americas (as far as you'll see in the game anyway) are right side driving. Which side of the road countries drive on. Where countries are located, flags, capitals and some of the other biggest cities, domain names. Look up where there's no Google coverage.
What are the easiest and most usefull metas to learn?
Hi, my dad and I are very new to the game but would love to play together/against each other. I hope these tricks can be useful to you in becoming a better Geoguessr. Before making a guess it's worth taking a second to check your surroundings and their direction and compare it to the map. Very few players have mastered region guessing here. #1 – American trucksAmerican and Canadian trucks will often have their location of origin displayed somewhere on the door. Instead of throwing you pc out of the window, take a look at his process using the 'watch replay' feature after a game has ended.
It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish one language from the other. This chart I made shows some of the most common scripts and which Geoguessr-possible places to find them. As languages developed throughout the world, every region developed its own recognizable features.

This way you can narrow down your guess tremendously, and drastically reduce your chances of making a fool of yourself in competitive modes. #1 – Google Maps coverageFirstly, perhaps the most essential tip. Create your account and connect with a world of communities.
Also useful for cross referencing the shape, color and number format of road/highway signs if you're trying to decide between two or a few countries. Also useful to compare words and place names to place names on the map for similarities. Using external resources are generally considered cheating, at least in competitive play.
I made a game like GeoGuessr, except free and unlimited
Those countries/regions haven't allowed Google to map their streets and roads. Some big ones are mainland China, Kazakhstan, most of Africa, most of the Middle East, easier to memorize the few countries that do have coverage in those regions. If luckygem casino bonus there's no Google coverage, no point in guessing there.
This map shows the spread of the world's most common languages, most notably English and Spanish. Also, when the sun is rising or setting it will be in the east or west, limiting your ability to use this trick. When you're close to the equator the sun direction doesn't give you a lot of information. #2 – Sun directionThe sun direction trick can be incredibly helpful. An in depth map of worldwide coverage as of 2024 can be found here.

While were a game about exploring the world, world politics come with a lot of opinions and heated arguments. If you would like to share your gameplay video, there is a channel dedicated to that on our Discord server. All movie companies should hire Geoguessr players for fact-checking purposes. - (Malta is easy to forget, but you’ll see it a lot in the game.) The southern/eastern parts of Africa are left side driving.
Knowing which abbreviation stands for which country can be a big help. It's a white plate with a distinctive blue stripe on the left. Some countries however give their own spin to it. Look straight into the sun and take a look at your compass; does it point to the south?
Too often I see people make guesses in countries that aren't a possibility. Get to know some of the over represented locations. It might seem like a daunting task, but the left side countries are kind of clustered. For example if you end up in a Museum with Chinese language, it's not impossible you are for example in Beijing, Shanghai or perhaps the National Silk Museum in Hangzhou. Then there's a lot of dead areas which are just desert/tundra/rainforest so no coverage there either.
My recommendation is not to study them, but to take a mental note when something stands out to you in a game. The more general things like right- or left-hand traffic are probably the most important to know. Small distinct features are typically one of the reasons pros know their countries so well. #6 – Infrastructure & cultureOne of the biggest helps in making a good guess is the infrastructure. Comparing this to the writing you found in game can be a huge help.
However, it is not a unique issue and should not be posted on the sub. We're sorry that you experienced an issue with a location near a border. Anyone can view, post, and comment to this community
But such locations can of course still also occur in areas with official coverage like Hong Kong or Taiwan for the example of a Chinese language museum. After that you can play unlimited, except curating a list of locations is very time consuming. (Malta is easy to forget, but you'll see it a lot in the game.) The southern/eastern parts of Africa are left side driving. Is there any way that we can continue playing games? Geoguessr has this neat feature where if you zoom in on a country it shows you the native language/script. If you know which countries are in the EU, using this plate logic you can narrow down your guess quite a lot.
